Sample Assistant

About the role

The Sample Assistant supports chemists and lab assistants in the lubricating oils and greases laboratory. The role involves handling raw material, packaging, and finished product samples and maintaining a safe, organized lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draw samples of raw material, packaging material and finished products as directed by the chemist or lab assistant.
• Maintain the laboratory and all equipment, apparatus and glassware in a clean condition at all times.
• Ensure proper storage and easy recall of laboratory retention samples.
• Replenish laboratory chemicals from store to guarantee adequate supply for testing.
• Participate in the implementation of the company HSE policy and follow safe working practices.
• Comply with company rules and the Delegation of Authority Manual for other responsibilities.

Required profile

• High School certificate or laboratory apprenticeship from a recognized institute.
• 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory, preferably in a lubricants blending plant.

Required skills

• Sample collection and handling.
• Laboratory equipment maintenance.
• Chemical inventory management.
