School Counsellor – Immediate Start

About the role

The Mubarak Bin Mohammed Cycle 2 Charter School seeks a dedicated School Counsellor to join its vibrant community. You will support students’ personal, social, academic and mental‑health needs in a modern, mixed‑gender primary school that follows an American curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to address personal, family, educational and mental‑health issues.
• Conduct interviews, interest and aptitude assessments to guide academic and career planning.
• Monitor student progress, liaise with parents, and intervene to prevent or address bullying.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions, refer to external services when needed, and run whole‑school wellbeing initiatives.
• Offer conflict‑resolution sessions and identify cases of domestic abuse or family problems affecting learning.

Required profile

• Relevant counselling qualification and experience working with children or adolescents.
• Strong understanding of mental‑health, career guidance and educational development.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.
