School Nurse

About the role

Dubai Schools Al Barsha is seeking an experienced School Nurse to join its vibrant community. The role focuses on safeguarding student health, ensuring compliance with DHA/HAAD regulations, and supporting the overall wellbeing of pupils and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑aid, administer medication, vaccines and other treatments to students.
• Monitor lunch boxes and school canteen food to promote healthy eating.
• Maintain and audit First Aid kits and health‑safety equipment.
• Conduct school medical examinations for designated year groups.
• Manage DHA/HAAD compliance, approvals and health statistics.
• Communicate health‑related information to parents and liaise with the Children’s Health department.
• Support children with specific health needs, such as diabetes.
• Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and child‑protection initiatives.

Required profile

• Valid nursing qualification approved by DHA/HAAD.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in a hospital or school clinic setting.
• Strong knowledge of primary health care for children and families.
• Excellent communication, confidentiality and empathy when working with young people.

Required skills

• Administration of drugs, vaccines and first‑aid procedures.
• Understanding of DHA/HAAD health‑compliance standards.
• Ability to conduct health assessments and maintain accurate records.
