School Operations Manager

About the role

The GEMS World Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Manager – School Operations (MSO) to lead all non‑educational activities that keep the school running smoothly. Reporting to the Principal/CEO, you will ensure the campus environment, facilities and support services meet the highest standards for safety, cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee development, maintenance, safety, security and cleanliness of the school building and grounds, guaranteeing continuous availability for school use.
• Manage administration and support services, optimise staff deployment and collaborate on recruitment of high‑quality personnel.
• Provide strategic financial and operational advice to senior leadership and monitor performance through robust management systems.
• Champion continuous professional development for staff, aligning training with school objectives.
• Assist the Principal/CEO in delivering the school improvement plan and achieving strategic goals.
• Lead environmental sustainability initiatives across the campus.
• Handle stakeholder relationships, health‑safety compliance, facilities management and overall school operations.

Required profile

• Minimum BA degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Certificate in School Business Management, Facilities Management, NEBOSH or IOSH).
• Proven experience in a senior role within a service‑oriented industry.
