School Receptionist

About the role

The school is seeking a professional and welcoming Receptionist to be the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors. This full‑time position starts at the beginning of the 2024‑2025 academic year and requires strict confidentiality and excellent organisational skills.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Arrange appointments between teachers and parents and manage the school’s front‑desk communications.
• Issue visitor passes, monitor lanyards and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Receive and sign for deliveries, organise post and manage external exam paper shipments.
• Maintain and update student data, locker lists and attendance records.
• Keep the reception area tidy, replenish literature and ensure a professional environment.
• Support routine administrative tasks such as collating registers, updating databases and distributing stationery.

Required profile

• Organised, friendly and able to represent the school professionally.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and handle confidential information.
• Experience in a British‑curriculum school and knowledge of safer recruitment procedures is desirable.
• UK ICPC or equivalent police check is mandatory.
