Security Researcher - Software

About the role

Security Researcher – Software at EDGE Group’s BEACON RED team will conduct hands‑on security assessments of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, hardware devices and software solutions. The role involves vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering and attack‑based evaluations to identify weaknesses and provide risk‑based recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security evaluations of software, firmware, embedded systems, hardware devices and IT products.
• Conduct vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, reverse engineering and logical attack assessments.
• Support side‑channel analysis, fault injection, debug interface testing and cryptographic implementation testing.
• Collect, analyse and document technical evidence, identify vulnerabilities and assess attack vectors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity evaluation, penetration testing, vulnerability research or related areas.
• Hands‑on experience with firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development, side‑channel analysis or fault injection.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and ISO/IEC 17025.
