Senior Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Senior Assistant Accountant will oversee regular and period‑closing accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. This role also supports cost analysis, compliance with budgetary thresholds, and continuous improvement of finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and validate regular and period‑closing accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Validate sales transactions, record received funds, and perform timely account reconciliations.
• Process, monitor and implement all accounts payments checks, ensuring disbursements align with company policy and budgetary thresholds.
• Analyse costs against approved budgets, produce reports, and recommend process improvements for automation and cost savings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of finance experience, preferably across multiple finance areas.
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge and understanding of VAT rules and their application.
• Experience with ERP finance modules and ability to conduct process improvements.
