Senior Civil Construction Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer, Construction (Civil) to lead onshore pipeline construction activities in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, execution, and supervision of civil and structural works while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil & structural construction activities for onshore pipeline projects.
• Develop construction methodologies, work packs and detailed schedules.
• Supervise contractors and construction teams to ensure safe execution and compliance with HSE standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning and project teams to align construction work with project specifications.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity and reporting, and support constructability reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• Proven experience in similar senior construction engineering positions.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Pipeline installation, welding, testing and commissioning.
• EPC/EPCM project environment experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards.
• Civil and structural construction management.
