Senior Commissioning Engineer

About the role

NMDC Energy PJSC is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead and execute commissioning activities for oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that all testing, documentation, and HSE standards are met while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and perform instrument commissioning, SAT, loop and functional testing.
• Develop and write comprehensive testing procedures and method statements.
• Implement and test subsystems according to commissioning test sheets and project scope.
• Coordinate with vendors, pre‑commissioning teams, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare detailed test reports, documentation, and maintain commissioning databases.
• Monitor PPE, PTW, and HSE compliance on‑site.
• Lead small project teams and report progress to the Commissioning Team Leader.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrument Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of oil & gas experience, including at least 4 years in a commissioning leadership role.
• Proven ability to interpret project documentation and scope of work.

Required skills

• Instrument commissioning, SAT, loop and functional testing.
• Advanced Process Control (APC), Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Emergency Shut‑Down (ESD) systems.
• Control strategies: PI, PID, cascade, split‑range, alarm management.
• Instrumentation documents: Control Narratives, Cause‑and‑Effect charts, P&ID, loop diagrams, logic block diagrams.
