Senior Construction Supervisor Electrical

About the role

The Senior Construction Supervisor – Electrical is responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical construction activities for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects, ensuring safe and timely execution in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, construction schedules, and HSE standards. The role involves overseeing installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, motors, lighting, earthing and other electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day electrical construction and installation activities on site.
• Oversee installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, motors, lighting, earthing and other equipment.
• Monitor cable‑tray installation, cable pulling, glanding, termination, testing and energisation.
• Ensure works follow approved IFC drawings, single‑line diagrams, cable schedules, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with I&C, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, telecom and commissioning teams.
• Track contractor manpower, equipment productivity and progress against schedule, and resolve constraints, material shortages or design discrepancies.
• Lead electrical inspections, continuity and insulation‑resistance tests, equipment testing and system energisation, working with QA/QC to close RFIs and NCRs.
• Enforce HSE requirements, PTW, LOTO and safe energisation procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute.
• Minimum 15 + years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry (12 years for UAE nationals).
• At least 5 years in a senior electrical construction supervisory role on major oil & gas or marine projects.
• Minimum 3 years of project experience in the GCC region.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and deliver projects on schedule.
