Senior Counsellor

About the role

The Senior Counsellor will support students at Higher Colleges of Technology by providing individual and group counselling, helping them manage personal challenges and make informed decisions. This role enhances the overall student experience on campus and contributes to their academic and personal success.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct counselling appointments for students facing stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other personal issues.
• Develop and maintain confidential student records and an up‑to‑date database.
• Plan and deliver periodic group‑counselling workshops and seminars.
• Collaborate with faculty members to discuss student cases when needed.
• Refer students to appropriate campus resources such as Academic Advisors or Career Coaches.
• Support students in decision‑making and coping strategies in a timely and effective manner.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in student counselling or a related mental‑health role.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with students.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
