Senior Data Engineer - UAE

About the role

Cognite is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team and help build scalable data solutions for industrial customers. You will work with a cross‑functional group of solution architects, data scientists and project managers to deliver high‑impact digital projects in power, energy and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data engineering solutions on the Cognite Data Fusion platform.
• Develop and manage data integrations, extractions, modeling, and analysis using Cognite data connectors, SQL, Python, Java and REST APIs.
• Create custom data models for discovery, mapping and cleansing.
• Collaborate with data scientists, solution architects and engineers to enable customers to maximize the value of the industrial data‑ops platform.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Support customers and partners in executing data engineering tasks with Cognite products.
• Contribute to Cognite’s official tools, SDKs and product roadmap.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
• Several years of hands‑on data engineering experience, preferably in industrial or energy sectors.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
