About the role

cander is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the technical development and deployment of AI initiatives that support advanced defense and industrial applications. You will bridge unstructured regulatory and technical documents with structured engineering systems, delivering production‑grade AI solutions that improve design, manufacturing, and procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and deployment of generative AI and NLP solutions for engineering platforms.
• Explore and analyse large, domain‑specific datasets (both structured and unstructured) to ensure data quality and extract actionable patterns.
• Design, fine‑tune, and deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) to interpret complex regulatory texts such as military standards and building codes.
• Transform interpreted regulatory content into computer‑processable formats (object‑property‑condition‑value tuples) for downstream compliance engines.
• Architect NLP‑driven methods that map natural‑language requirements to metadata entities across engineering schemas (e.g., linking system design attributes to BIM/IFC models).
• Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance knowledge‑base querying and decision support.
• Collaborate within a structured delivery framework from Sprint Zero to Stage Gate, ensuring alignment with the platform and Intelligent Supply Chain programs.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in AI/ML research and production deployment.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and act as a liaison between data sources and engineering systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience handling high‑stakes, compliance‑focused environments.
