Senior Derivatives Risk Control Specialist

About the role

Bybit is seeking a senior professional to build and maintain the risk framework for its derivatives product line. The role covers pricing logic, risk parameter design, and monitoring mechanisms for perpetual contracts, futures, options and other products, ensuring stability under extreme market conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain funding rate mechanisms, settlement price methodologies and options pricing models for perpetual contracts, futures and options.
• Develop and iterate risk parameters such as maximum leverage, position limits, and auto‑deleveraging triggers, adjusting them dynamically based on market depth.
• Create insurance fund utilization rules, circuit‑breaker plans and emergency response procedures for extreme market events.
• Collaborate with product and market‑surveillance teams to define admission criteria for new derivatives and investigate potential market manipulation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in derivatives risk management, either in traditional finance or crypto exchanges.
• Deep understanding of perpetual contract mechanics, funding rates, Mark Price and liquidation logic.
• Strong foundation in probability theory, statistics and risk measurement methodologies such as VaR and Expected Shortfall.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, back‑testing and model validation.
• Experience with SQL and Spark for querying on‑chain and internal data.
• Knowledge of options pricing theory, including Black‑Scholes and volatility surface modeling.
• Ability to apply statistical techniques and risk metrics (VaR, Expected Shortfall).
