Senior Digital Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for the development, integration, production support, and maintenance of firmware for advanced electronic systems and subsystems used in demanding aerospace and defense environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement FPGA firmware using VHDL for FPGA, SoC, and CPLD platforms, optimizing for resource‑constrained devices such as Intel Max10 CPLDs.
• Lead the full FPGA development lifecycle from requirements through deployment, including board support packages and peripheral interfaces.
• Create automated test benches, perform simulation, debugging, and validation of FPGA and SoC designs, and troubleshoot PCB‑level issues.
• Collaborate with PCB and E‑CAD engineers on digital circuit design reviews and ensure firmware compatibility with hardware.
• Develop embedded C software to interface FPGA firmware with SoC platforms and support integration across firmware, software, and hardware teams.
• Produce technical documentation and ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards such as DO‑254 and DO‑178.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of hands‑on FPGA firmware development experience, preferably in aerospace, defense or high‑technology industries.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in VHDL development and verification.
• Experience with Intel Altera and AMD Xilinx FPGA families (e.g., Cyclone, Zynq‑7000).
• Knowledge of Intel Max10 CPLD devices.
• Embedded C development on SoC platforms.
• Understanding of digital and analog circuit design and PCB debugging.
• Familiarity with DO‑254 and DO‑178 compliance processes.
• Tools: Vivado, Quartus Prime, HDL Designer, Altium Designer, Eclipse, Git, ModelSim/Questa.
