Senior Electrical Engineer – High‑Rise Projects

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design, execution and commissioning of electrical systems for high‑rise building projects in Dubai. You will provide technical leadership across all phases, ensuring compliance with standards, client requirements and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review electrical deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, cable routing, lighting calculations and earthing/ lightning protection designs.
• Prepare, review and approve method statements, specifications, termination drawings, bills of materials and junction schedules.
• Select, size and specify MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, motors, lighting fixtures and cables.
• Perform load calculations, short‑circuit and coordination studies and validate results against project criteria.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical and instrumentation teams to integrate electrical systems into the overall construction.
• Supervise shop‑drawing and as‑built preparation, material take‑offs, BOQ review and on‑site installation.
• Lead testing, commissioning and QA/QC inspections of substations and field‑installed equipment.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design and construction of high‑rise buildings.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

Required skills

• Electrical design and drafting (single‑line, wiring, layout).
• Load calculation, short‑circuit and coordination studies.
• Selection and specification of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, motors and lighting.
• Cable routing, earthing and lightning protection design.
