Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician to lead the upkeep, testing and commissioning of critical power generation and distribution equipment. The role involves working on high‑voltage and low‑voltage systems in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Test and commission power and distribution transformer protection systems from manufacturers such as Areva, Siemens, Schneider, ABB and GE.
• Troubleshoot control circuits of HV/LV switchgear and associated protection devices.
• Maintain and protect HV motors, 132 kV/33 kV gas‑insulated switchgear, and HV/LV switchgear.
• Perform routine maintenance on power and distribution transformers.
• Inspect and service HV cables, cable differential and feeder protection systems.
• Implement low‑impedance bus‑bar protection (REB500, REB670) and high‑impedance bus‑bar protection schemes.
• Utilise secondary and primary injection test kits for comprehensive system verification.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with gas turbine and steam turbine generator protection systems.
• Proven background in generator transformer protection and testing.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV switchgear operation and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with HV motor protection and gas‑insulated switchgear.
• Ability to work safely on high‑voltage equipment and follow strict industry standards.
