Senior HSE Engineer

About the role

The Senior HSE Engineer will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives across projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, international standards and company policies. The role combines administrative oversight with on‑site operational control to foster a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and programs in line with OSHA, UAE regulations and Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and promote safe work practices on all project activities.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, determine root causes and drive corrective actions while maintaining accurate records.
• Perform HSE audits and inspections to verify compliance with ISO standards, client requirements and local regulations.
• Monitor environmental impacts, manage waste and implement pollution‑prevention measures.
• Oversee subcontractor HSE performance and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
• Prepare periodic HSE reports, safety statistics, inspection findings and performance indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience, at least 8 years in the UAE.
• Experience on GCC projects, preferably in healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality or institutional sectors.
• NEBOSH or OSHA certification, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, Incident Investigation certification and Abu Dhabi Municipality HSE/Engineering certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ADM HSE regulations and standards.
• IMS and auditing experience is an advantage.
