Senior HSE Officer – Dredging & Marine Projects

About the role

Support the NMDC project HSE Manager in delivering dredging and marine projects with top‑class health, safety and environment performance, protecting the surrounding environment and meeting stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the HSE Management System (HSEMS) across the project.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits and housekeeping reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Lead incident and accident investigations, analyse root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Supervise subcontractors and site teams on safety matters and enforce zero‑tolerance for unsafe practices.
• Prepare and deliver HSE training plans, ensuring workforce competency.
• Maintain HSE registers, incident reports, lessons‑learned databases and compile weekly statistical reports.
• Coordinate emergency mock drills and verify proper use of lifesaving and firefighting equipment.
• Support project managers in achieving HSE targets and compliance with JSA and toolbox meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field.
• Relevant HSE management qualification with NEBOSH or OSHA certification.
• Experience in dredging and marine projects and knowledge of the ISM Code and applicable regulations.
