Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

About the role

The Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse will lead the hospital’s infection control programme, ensuring patient safety through surveillance, risk assessment and education. Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, the role drives evidence‑based practices to minimise healthcare‑associated infections.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation on infection control to medical, nursing and support staff.
• Develop, review and implement departmental policies related to infection prevention.
• Lead the infection prevention and control committee and represent the team in external meetings.
• Conduct product evaluations and financial/value analyses for infection‑control initiatives.
• Deliver bedside clinical consultations and support multidisciplinary teams during change processes.
• Communicate with HAAD on reportable infectious diseases and epidemic situations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in infection prevention and control.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and program evaluation.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
