Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to lead schedule and progress control for a major roads and infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves analysing the contractor’s programme, monitoring performance against the baseline and ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyse and validate the contractor’s baseline, updates and revisions for compliance.
• Monitor project progress, identify delays, produce trend reports and recommend mitigation actions.
• Conduct independent delay analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and Extension of Time (EOT) assessments.
• Develop and maintain internal monitoring tools such as look‑ahead schedules, dashboards and critical‑path trackers.
• Participate in coordination meetings, present schedule updates, performance metrics and recovery plans.
• Collaborate with discipline engineers to obtain progress, constraint and resource data.
• Support Earned Value Management reporting and gateway reviews in line with Ashghal’s PMDS framework.
• Validate on‑site physical progress and correlate it with contractor submissions.
• Prepare reporting formats consistent with Ashghal KPIs and assist in contractual correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field from a WHED‑listed university.
• Minimum 10 years total experience, including at least 7 years in planning and controls on large infrastructure/roads projects.
• UPDA Grade A certification preferred.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
