Senior Planning Engineer – Railway Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join the project controls team for a major railway construction project in Abu Dhabi. The role will focus on developing, maintaining and controlling integrated project schedules to ensure delivery within contractual milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including baseline, execution, procurement, engineering and resource‑loaded programmes.
• Prepare recovery plans, revised programmes and detailed weekly/monthly planning reports.
• Establish and maintain WBS, activity coding, project calendars, milestones, constraints and schedule logic.
• Monitor progress across engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, performing critical‑path, float and variance analyses.
• Conduct Time Impact Analysis, what‑if scenario modelling and support delay, disruption and EOT claims.
• Produce look‑ahead schedules, progress dashboards, S‑curves, earned‑value and KPI reports.
• Coordinate with project management, construction, engineering, procurement, commercial teams, subcontractors and clients, reviewing subcontractor schedules.
• Identify schedule risks, develop mitigation measures and maintain full planning documentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in construction project planning and controls.
• Strong analytical skills with proven ability to perform schedule risk analysis and claim support.
• Excellent communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and what‑if scenario modelling.
• Critical‑path, float and schedule variance analysis.
• Earned Value Management and KPI reporting.
• Development of baseline, recovery and resource‑loaded schedules.
