Senior Principal Instrument & Controls Engineer

About the role

The Senior Principal Instrument & Controls Engineer will lead the development of innovative, reliable and cost‑effective instrumentation and control solutions for large‑scale projects. This specialist role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to influence project direction and resource allocation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed analyses and design in line with design basis, project specifications, codes and standards.
• Develop creative, reliable and cost‑effective solutions for complex instrumentation and control challenges.
• Lead and coordinate a large Instrumentation & Controls engineering team, ensuring delivery within schedule and budget.
• Plan, organise and direct all discipline execution aspects, including scope, deliverables, schedule and manpower.
• Act as the discipline representative in project meetings with customers, certifying authorities and third‑party auditors.
• Identify early project concerns, propose corrective actions and maintain progress and productivity.

Required profile

• Recognised specialist in Instrumentation & Controls with extensive experience on major projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage resources.
• Strong conceptual and innovative thinking to solve high‑impact technical problems.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas and influence outcomes.
