Senior RF Signal Processing Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior RF Signal Processing Software Engineer to lead the development of embedded software and firmware for advanced RF communication and FMCW radar systems. The role involves designing and implementing physical‑layer and Layer‑2 algorithms on microcontrollers and FPGA platforms to support high‑performance, real‑time wireless and sensing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Implement PHY (Layer 1) and Layer 2 radio and FMCW radar front‑end algorithms on microcontrollers or FPGA.
• Develop embedded software and signal‑processing code for data‑links and radar, including device drivers for RF chipsets.
• Write and maintain bare‑metal firmware for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers and firmware with RTOS.
• Integrate communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, Ethernet) in Linux and microcontroller environments.
• Design and generate Board Support Packages and build Linux images using Yocto or FreeRTOS.
• Develop Linux drivers and kernel modules for custom hardware, and implement client/server applications over UDP/TCP/IP.
• Perform code reviews, ensure coding standards, and use version‑control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Analyse and optimise system performance regarding throughput, latency, power consumption and signal quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and support hardware testing and debugging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in embedded software engineering, including C/C++ and Assembly development.
• Strong knowledge of OSI PHY/Layer 1 and Layer 2 radio front‑end algorithms.
• Deep understanding of ARM Cortex‑M architectures, FPGA development and RTOS concepts.
• Experience with Linux driver and kernel development, bare‑metal firmware, and Yocto/FreeRTOS builds.
• Proven ability to work with RF hardware such as transceivers, power amplifiers and antenna systems.
