Senior Site Engineer - Vertical MEP

About the role

The Senior Site Engineer – Vertical MEP will act as the technical authority for vertical transportation systems within a large‑scale building services project. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role combines on‑site leadership, quality assurance and mentorship of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, health & safety standards and applicable codes.
• Review and red‑mark shop drawings, as‑built documents, method statements and technical submittals.
• Prepare and issue NCRs, SORs, snag lists and RFIs.
• Assess contractor BIM clash detection reports and flag major issues.
• Validate test procedures and results against project specifications and industry codes.
• Liaise professionally with contractors and commissioning teams.
• Monitor installation progress, submittals and use of engineering tools.
• Participate in coordination meetings, workshops and provide technical guidance to the project team.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related MEP/Building Services discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in vertical transportation systems.
• CSA Grade 5 qualification (desirable).
• Certified Commissioning Authority (BCA, ACG or NEBB) – desirable.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and train multidisciplinary teams.
