Senior Software Engineer

About the role

TrueForge is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the modernization of mission‑critical legacy applications for its clients in Dubai. You will use modern technologies to refactor, redesign and rebuild existing systems, ensuring they are secure, performant and ready for future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software modules that upgrade legacy platforms.
• Refactor and rewrite code to improve performance, security and maintainability.
• Collaborate with architects, QA engineers and other developers to integrate new technologies and follow best practices.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of modernization projects, from technical design through deployment.
• Conduct code reviews and write unit and integration tests to guarantee quality.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including work on complex, mission‑critical systems.
• Proven experience refactoring legacy code and applying modern architectural patterns such as microservices and API‑driven designs.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work with both older and cutting‑edge technologies.

Required skills

• Java, C# or Python programming.
• Java Spring Boot and .NET Core frameworks.
• Microservices architecture and API development.
• Database design and integration.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
