Senior Software Verification and Validation Engineer

About the role

POWERTECH is a centre of excellence for propulsion technologies, designing and manufacturing combustion, turbojet and turbofan engines for aerospace, defence and autonomous platforms. The role focuses on verification of safety‑critical embedded software used in these advanced systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform software verification activities for safety‑critical embedded software.
• Develop requirements‑based test procedures and execute test runs.
• Analyse test results and document verification outcomes.
• Conduct data/control coupling and structural coverage analysis.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, tests and code.
• Support Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) test setup, execution and verification.
• Collaborate with software, system and certification teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer, Electrical/Electronics, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with C and/or C++ programming.
• Knowledge and experience with DO‑178C processes.
• Experience in requirements‑based test development, integration and unit testing.
• Familiarity with real‑time operating systems (RTOS) and bare‑metal development.
• Experience with HIL test environments and configuration management tools (Git, JIRA, DOORS, JAMA).

• Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing.
• Version control and requirements tools: Git, JIRA, DOORS, JAMA.
• Test automation and test infrastructure.
• ARINC 653 (preferred).
• Structural coverage objectives (statement, decision, MC‑DC) and DO‑330 tool qualification.
