Senior Specialist - Data Engineering

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Data Engineering will design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑wide BI reporting and ETL pipelines. You will work closely with business and cross‑functional teams to translate analytics needs into robust data solutions and drive a self‑service analytics culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes and data marts on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, create data models and ensure data quality through validation and monitoring.
• Lead the development of data strategy, promote self‑service analytics, and mentor junior team members.
• Maintain and optimise existing BI environments, including Power BI, Tableau and Business Objects, and transition solutions to operations and support teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑11 years of experience in data engineering, advanced analytics and reporting solutions.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; certifications in data warehousing or ETL are a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work with moderate supervision and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Python for data engineering and scripting.
• Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Extensive SQL experience (PL/SQL, T‑SQL, Spark SQL) and RDBMS platforms (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
• Data modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
• ETL and data‑warehousing tools such as Alteryx.
• BI and visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
