Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to supervise and manage structural works on residential, commercial, mixed‑use and high‑rise building projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves ensuring that all structural activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction of structural elements including reinforcement, formwork, concrete, steel, and post‑tensioning.
• Review and monitor contractor activities for compliance with drawings, specifications and contract terms.
• Inspect shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and RFIs.
• Conduct site inspections, prepare reports and identify non‑conformances.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, contractors and authorities.
• Monitor project progress, attend progress and technical coordination meetings.
• Verify quality control procedures and enforce health & safety regulations.
• Support project handover and final documentation preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 5‑10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• At least 3‑5 years of experience working on building projects in the UAE/Dubai.
