Senior Supervisor – Construction (Lifting)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an experienced Senior Supervisor to lead construction lifting and hauling activities on site. The role ensures that all lift operations are planned, executed and monitored in line with Petrofac HSSE policies and client requirements, supporting the transition to safer and more efficient energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Review lift plans for non‑routine, complex and critical categories, weighing procedures and load‑out manuals to ensure compliance with Petrofac and project HSSE guidelines.
• Collaborate with construction leads to develop lift and haul schedules, optimise resource utilisation and align with site priorities.
• Assess lifting and hauling operations, select appropriate cranes, lifting gear and equipment, and define safety precautions.
• Develop lift studies, heavy‑haul plans, weighing and load‑out plans, method statements and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Conduct daily site audits to verify HSE and lifting/hauling procedure compliance.
• Monitor rigging and lifting operations to ensure adherence to approved plans and procedures.
• Act as the qualified person for all load‑out, load‑in and erection activities using lifting equipment.
• Ensure lifting/hauling equipment is inspected, maintained and certified by approved third parties.
• Verify that all personnel involved are trained, competent and third‑party certified.
• Review and approve routine lift plans, rigging procedures and subcontractor lift studies.

Required profile

• Qualified person for load‑out, load‑in and erection activities using lifting equipment.
• Proven experience in planning and executing complex lifting and heavy‑haul operations on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, rigging standards and equipment certification requirements.
• Ability to conduct site audits, competency assessments and provide corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with construction leads, subcontractors and third‑party inspectors.
