Senior Technician, Mechanical Maintenance (Rotating-Process)

About the role

The Senior Technician, Mechanical Maintenance (Rotating‑Process) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability and integrity of plant utility equipment. This includes both rotating and static assets across cooling water, fire‑water, instrument air, inert gas generation, potable water, mobile pumps, compressors and effluent disposal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain work permits, review assignments and arrange transport, materials, tools and equipment.
• Allocate tasks to technicians and participate in diagnosing complex faults.
• Inspect and test completed work to verify efficient performance.
• Perform routine, preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance, including part replacement and test runs.
• Execute major overhauls, verify clearances and determine part usage or replacement.
• Prepare comprehensive daily activity reports detailing faults, actions taken, materials, labour and time.
• Implement and comply with functional policies, procedures and HSE standards.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and maintain tools, safety gear and equipment.
• Manage time standards, request additional resources when needed and suggest continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Participate in emergency response, maintain housekeeping standards and collect technical data for progress reports.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in mechanical maintenance of rotating and static equipment within an industrial plant.
• Ability to lead and allocate work to a team of technicians.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with utility systems such as cooling water, fire‑water, instrument air, inert gas, potable water, pumps and compressors.
• Commitment to HSE compliance and continuous improvement.
