Senior Telecom Engineer

About the role

Sener is seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to join its Rail & Metro team in Dubai. You will lead the design and delivery of advanced railway telecommunications systems for large‑scale infrastructure projects across the United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept to IFC design of railway telecom systems, including fibre‑optic backbone, structured cabling, IP/MPLS, transmission networks and passenger‑information solutions.
• Develop and review technical specifications, calculations, drawings, equipment schedules and full design documentation.
• Coordinate telecom designs with signalling, train control, cybersecurity, SCADA, power, MEP, civil and track disciplines.
• Define and manage interface requirements between railway telecom and third‑party systems.
• Conduct multidisciplinary design reviews, constructability assessments and value‑engineering workshops.
• Provide technical support during installation, integration, testing and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications, railway standards and Sener quality procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electronic, Electrical or Communication Engineering.
• 12–13 years of overall engineering experience, with at least 10 years in rail and metro projects.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering railway telecommunications systems.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
