Shift Operator – SMP 1 / DRP 1 / WTP (Steel Industry)

About the role

STAR SERVICES LLC is seeking an experienced Shift Operator to run SMP 1, DRP 1 and WTP equipment in a steel production environment. The role involves operating machine tools, following SOPs, and ensuring safe, uninterrupted production during regular shifts, plant shutdowns, and breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machine tools to produce work pieces or spare parts according to engineering drawings and samples.
• Follow standard operating procedures and quality systems to guarantee product conformity.
• Coordinate with workshop staff to set up machines and report any deviations to the senior operator or supervisor.
• Maintain 100% machine availability and ensure safe operation at all times.
• Implement health, safety and environmental procedures on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Technical school education (or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in a steel plant or heavy‑industry machine shop as a machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Computer literacy and exposure to professional training are preferred.
