Site Engineer – Steel Structure

About the role

Join Vanderlande’s Project Execution team in Dubai as a Site Engineer focused on steel structures. You will play a key part in delivering high‑performance airport logistics solutions, ensuring mechanical installations are executed safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with mechanical installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment across multiple projects.
• Guide subcontractors on best‑practice installation methods and supervise steel‑work installation.
• Coordinate with construction and procurement teams to secure tools, consumables and resources required on site.
• Prepare detailed work packages for installation crews and provide input to the proposals department.
• Monitor site progress, report status, and assist the quality team with inspections, snag resolution and hand‑over to the client.
• Identify potential risks, propose preventive actions and collaborate with engineering and drafting teams to avoid defects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in steel‑structure practices within industrial automation, preferably in baggage or material handling systems.
• Willingness to work on projects in the UAE, KSA and other regions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.
• Fluent in English; Arabic or other languages are an advantage.
