Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition

About the role

Speechify is looking for a Software Engineer to own the data collection pipeline that fuels its AI‑driven text‑to‑speech models. You will work in a fully distributed team, collaborating with scientists and product leaders to build petabyte‑scale, cost‑effective datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new audio data sources and integrate them into the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate, monitor, and extend the cloud‑based ingestion infrastructure on GCP, managed with Terraform.
• Partner with AI scientists to improve data quality, throughput and cost efficiency.
• Help define the AI team’s dataset roadmap aligned with consumer and enterprise product goals.

Required profile

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Linux command‑line and bash/Python scripting skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• GCP (Google Cloud Platform) services.
• Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Docker containerisation.
• Bash scripting and Linux environments.
• Experience with web crawling or large‑scale data processing workflows (a plus).
