Software Engineer (Human Data Platforms)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process human‑generated datasets. The position is fully remote and offers the chance to work with a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale batch and real‑time processing.
• Develop and maintain backend services that support data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and usability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability, security, and compliance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed processing technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
