Sommelier – Italian & Seafood

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island, the first integrated resort in the UAE slated to open in 2027, is seeking a Sommelier specialized in Italian cuisine and seafood to join its beverage team. The role involves delivering exceptional wine service, supporting the restaurant’s beverage program, and enhancing guest experiences in a luxury hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, communicate their needs to staff, and participate in pre‑shift meetings.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food menus, wine, beer, and cocktail lists, and provide accurate recommendations.
• Conduct beverage inventory checks, manage wine storage, and monitor pour levels to reduce waste.
• Train and mentor staff on wine service, lead beverage‑related classes, and ensure adherence to service standards.

Required profile

• Minimum age 21 and 1–2 years of wine service experience in fine‑dining or luxury hospitality.
• Basic sommelier certification (e.g., WSET Level 2) preferred.
• Fluent English; additional languages an asset.
• Flexible to work shifts as required.

Required skills

• WSET Level 2 (or equivalent) certification.
• Proficiency with POS systems and cash/card handling.
• Experience with beverage inventory control and cellar management.
