Sommelier – Luxury Club & Fine Dining

About the role

The Arts Club Dubai is seeking a dedicated Sommelier to lead the wine and sake service within its luxury members’ club and fine‑dining venues. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the successful candidate will ensure an exceptional beverage experience for members and guests, upholding the Club’s high standards of service and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist members and guests in selecting wine or sake and serve according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date wine and sake lists with correct vintages, pricing, and proper storage in the cellar and on display.
• Prepare mise‑en‑place, monitor stock levels and ensure beverages are served at the correct temperature.
• Manage glassware inventory, ensuring condition and appropriate use.
• Control operating costs by efficient use of resources and equipment.
• Promote sales through professional recommendation and positive sales techniques.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within luxury hotels or fine‑dining restaurants.
• Internationally recognised professional sommelier certification.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to recommend food‑and‑wine/sake pairings.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality and willingness to work long shifts standing.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of wine and sake varieties, regions and service standards.
• Proficiency in managing wine lists and cellar inventory.
• Customer‑focused service and salesmanship.
