About the role
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join the El Sur restaurant at Westin Dubai. The role focuses on preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to recipe standards, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, and store fruits and vegetables.
- Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and test for doneness.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Maintain hygiene by washing and disinfecting workstations, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor food temperatures, ensure proper storage, and follow safety and security policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least one year of related kitchen experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
- Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping, measuring and mixing.
