About the role

The Specialist Child Psychiatry role delivers professional, ethical, and high‑quality clinical care to children and adolescents. It includes managing clinical risks, ensuring governance compliance, maintaining accurate records, and fostering continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional, ethical, high‑quality clinical care to child and adolescent patients.
• Monitor and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality management standards and accurate medical record keeping.
• Lead continuous professional development for self and department staff.
• Supervise department staff, develop work schedules, and provide guidance on patient care.
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives and policy development.

Required profile

• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist level, including at least 1 year in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulator.
• Medical degree with recognized specialty qualification (fellowship/diploma) approved by UAE health authority.
• Registration and certification in a recognized psychiatry specialty by the relevant UAE authority.
• Active, valid life‑support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
