Specialist Process Safety Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Specialist Process Safety Engineer to lead Loss Prevention engineering for the Assiut Hydrocracking Complex Project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures safe, sustainable delivery of the project while meeting HSSEQ objectives and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure HSSEQ goals, objectives and targets are met through personal leadership and involvement.
• Deliver the project safely, on time, within budget, and to the owner’s quality expectations.
• Coordinate and supervise the Loss Prevention engineering aspects of the Assiut Hydrocracking Complex Project.
• Oversee regular technical reviews of Loss Prevention engineering deliverables from contractors and technology licensors.
• Interface with technical departments, business units, operations and maintenance to resolve technical issues and ensure engineering integrity.
• Provide technical expertise throughout engineering, fabrication, installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Develop and establish systems, procedures and standards in line with international codes, owner specifications and local regulations.
• Champion the project safety culture, behaviors and engagement activities.
• Report to the PMC Engineering Manager and ensure quality and accuracy of contractor’s Loss Prevention engineering activities.
• Review and approve contractor work to ensure compliance with contract obligations, specifications, codes and industry best practices.
