Staff Nurse – Adult Medical Surgical Unit (TP)

About the role

Provide direct and indirect age‑specific care for patients in an adult medical‑surgical unit, following the nursing process, hospital policies and Joint Commission International standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and revise individualized care plans, and document all findings in the medical record.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care, communicate using SBAR, and ensure safe medication administration, including narcotic/controlled drugs.
• Maintain infection‑control measures, wound‑care and pain‑management protocols, and operate unit equipment safely.
• Participate in staff meetings, unit committees, continuous quality‑improvement activities and mandatory education (e.g., fire safety, BLS).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or equivalent) and registration as a Registered Nurse in the home country or last employment country.
• Minimum two years of recent post‑graduate nursing experience in a medical‑surgical setting.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ability to obtain a UAE nursing license.

Required skills

• Patient assessment and care planning using the nursing process.
• Medication administration, including narcotic/controlled drug handling.
• SBAR communication for handovers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response.
• Infection control, wound care, and pain management techniques.
• Use of unit‑specific equipment and documentation systems.
