Staff Nurse – Pediatric Clinic

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Staff Nurse to join its Pediatric Clinic. The role involves delivering age-specific, patient-centered care and supporting a wide range of clinical procedures for infants, toddlers and children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with aerosol treatments, Bili Check procedures, circumcisions, enteral feeding tube insertions and HbA1c testing.
• Conduct health history interviews, pediatric physical assessments and point-of-care testing for influenza and rapid strep.
• Support vaccine administration, visual screenings, blood culture collection, ketone meter usage and nasopharyngeal specimen collection.
• Provide oral care for infants and toddlers, administer oral medications, perform oro-nasopharyngeal suctioning and collect throat swabs.
• Document patient data, maintain supplies, ensure compliance with JCIA standards and participate in unit quality-improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent) and registration as a Registered Nurse in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia.
• Minimum two years recent post-graduate experience in pediatric nursing.
• Valid license/registration in the home country or last place of employment and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
