Staff Nurse – Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

About the role

The Staff Nurse in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for coordinating and delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients emerging from surgery. The role involves direct patient care, education of patients and families, and ensuring smooth transitions across the care continuum while upholding SSMC’s mission, vision, and values.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data—including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs—to determine patient diagnoses and issues.
• Develop culturally appropriate, individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement evidence‑based interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to organizational policies.
• Document all aspects of the care plan, outcomes, and modifications using standardized terminology.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care to ensure continuity and safety.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a PACU setting.
• Commitment to professional nursing standards and the Abu Dhabi Professional Nurses Code of Conduct.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient, family, and team collaboration.
