Staff Physician – Cardiothoracic Anesthesia

About the role

The Staff Physician in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia will join the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, delivering comprehensive anesthetic care for cardiac and thoracic patients. This role involves pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative management, and post‑operative recovery in a high‑acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑operative evaluations, risk stratification, and patient counseling.
• Develop individualized anesthesia care plans using TCI, regional techniques, and advanced monitoring.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and assist with critically ill patients across the facility.
• Provide culturally sensitive, empathetic care throughout the peri‑operative period.
• Oversee safe postoperative recovery and ensure effective hand‑off of patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in consultations for high‑risk cases.
• Offer expertise in pain‑management planning for surgical and non‑surgical patients.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge, fulfill CME requirements, and comply with licensing and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in anesthesiology.
• Significant experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, high‑stress clinical environment.
• Commitment to continuous education and meeting DOH licensing requirements.
