Stewarding Team Leader

About the role

The Stewarding Team Leader at W Hotels in Abu Dhabi oversees the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dishroom areas. Reporting to the Food & Beverage management, you will ensure that all cleaning processes meet the brand’s high standards while supporting a motivated stewarding team.

Key responsibilities

• Organise cleaning chemicals, supplies and the supply rack (pots, pans, utensils).
• Rotate stock and retrieve wares from storage to the kitchen as needed.
• Complete cleaning checklists, schedule sanitising tasks and ensure timely execution.
• Collect dirty pans from the cooking line and transport them to the pot station for cleaning.
• Maintain sanitation areas, loading docks, ceilings, walls and vents in the dishroom.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching of stewarding staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting incidents and maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operation of dish‑washing machines and related cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and sanitation procedures.
