Stock Controller – Sports Retail

About the role

The Stock Controller for the Sports division will manage purchasing, replenishment and inventory levels for retail products, ensuring stock is maintained within budgetary limits. This position works closely with store operations and the storeroom team to keep stock accurate and compliant with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update inventory and stock management systems accurately.
• Receive supplies, verify quantities and conditions against purchase orders, and complete required paperwork.
• Log all stock movements, conduct weekly cycle counts and support annual physical inventory.
• Monitor stock levels, alert the store manager of budget thresholds, and manage returns, damaged, out‑of‑date or unsellable goods.
• Supervise health and safety procedures in the storeroom and coordinate with store staff for damaged stock processing.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a similar stock control role.
• Strong product/category knowledge and experience in the retail industry.
