Superintendent Construction (Fab)

About the role

The Superintendent Construction (Fab) will direct all fabrication activities on site, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. Reporting to senior project management, the role combines technical expertise with strong leadership to drive productivity and resolve operational challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage fabrication construction activities in line with project specifications, schedules and company standards.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to align resources and project phases.
• Implement and enforce comprehensive HSE protocols to maintain a zero‑incident workplace.
• Guarantee quality control throughout construction, ensuring compliance with industry codes and project requirements.
• Optimize workforce scheduling, equipment allocation and material procurement to meet project objectives.
• Supervise subcontractors and vendors, verifying performance against contractual agreements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide timely progress updates to stakeholders.
• Mentor staff, promote skill development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead planning sessions, assign tasks for upcoming weeks and monitor productivity metrics.
• Own implementation and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures.

Required profile

• In‑depth understanding of project execution strategies, workforce management theories and construction principles.
• Proven ability to lead on‑site teams and influence processes for effective workforce governance.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to address technical, operational and organisational issues.
• Experience in resource allocation, budgeting and adherence to project plans.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
