System Support Engineer – Satellite Network

About the role

Space42 is looking for a seasoned System Support Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of its IP network infrastructure across satellite base stations and remote terminals. You will work on enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and voice communication systems that underpin mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain IP network infrastructure at satellite sites.
• Deploy and manage next‑generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Firepower).
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot IPSec site‑to‑site and remote‑access VPNs.
• Administer routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP, VXLAN, STP, and QoS.
• Support VoIP infrastructure including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, voice gateways, SIP trunks, and related services.
• Perform firmware upgrades, security patching, configuration backups, and lifecycle management of network devices.
• Respond to network, security, and voice incidents within agreed service levels.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery testing, failover activities, and remote site maintenance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Take part in a 24×7 on‑call rotation for critical incidents and emergency maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• 8–12 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network and security operations.
• Proven experience with enterprise routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
