Technician – Garbage Chute Maintenance & Service

About the role

The Technician (Garbage Chute Maintenance & Service) is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You will ensure garbage chute systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with hygiene and health regulations. The role involves routine inspections, cleaning, repairs and close collaboration with pest‑control teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, clean and maintain garbage chute systems on a daily basis.
• Identify blockages, mechanical faults or performance issues and carry out necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise breakdowns.
• Coordinate with pest‑control teams to prevent infestations around waste areas.
• Document all work performed, report equipment conditions and maintain clear service records.
• Communicate maintenance schedules and recommendations to building management and clients.
• Use appropriate tools, protective equipment and cleaning agents safely.
• Support additional facility‑maintenance tasks related to waste management and pest prevention.

Required profile

• Strong background in equipment and industrial maintenance for garbage chute systems.
• Proven troubleshooting abilities for mechanical faults and blockages.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Capability to perform adjustments, part replacements and minor mechanical repairs safely.
• Relevant experience in building services, waste management or facility maintenance, preferably in residential or commercial settings.
• Basic understanding of health, safety and hygiene standards related to waste disposal and pest prevention.
• Ability to work on‑site in Dubai, follow instructions, manage time effectively and keep accurate records.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or mechanical trades is an advantage.
